Portugal - Day 15
September 22, 2025: Today was somewhat disappointing. We were supposed to go to the National Tile Museum, which I was really looking forward to seeing, but found out that it is closed on Mondays. So two things I had wanted to do related to Portugal’s history was a tile making class and the museum and both I was not able to do. However, we made the best of our last day in Lisbon. We took a train to Colombo Shopping Centre which was in an area of Lisbon we had not yet visited. It was fun to walk through the mall and look at all of the different shops. We picked up a few items to bring back with us and went to an Italian restaurant in the mall for lunch. Then we headed back to the city center. We went back to a couple of our favorite spots. One was a restaurant we had visited during our Eating Europe food tour called Cantinho Do Aziz. It was the Mozambican restaurant with the Chamussas. We sat outside and just enjoyed the food and wine and the atmosphere. Then we slowly walked back to our apartment to finish packing but couldn’t resist stopping for a glorious donut at Crush. We split the Lime “Pie” and Peanut Butter Dream. They are SO amazing!
Tomorrow we head to Madeira, our last leg of our journey. We are excited to see how this island compares to Hawaii. More to come!
